On May 16, 2016, a Peace Officer Memorial Service was held on the front lawn of the McCracken County Courthouse. In 2015, 128 Peace Officers gave their lives in the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty, while upholding the peace and security we enjoy each day. Monday, May 16, was the first day of Peace Officer's Memorial Week, and the day we choose each year to join together in remembrance, honor, and thanks to the men and women who have devoted themselves to preserving our freedoms with their lives.
