The city ordinance ONLY effects roadways within the city limits of Paducah. McCracken County DOES NOT have an ordinance regarding golf carts.

Golf Cart Inspection Instructions:

• You will not be able to have a golf cart permitted prior to April 1, 2026. The MCSO will perform inspections starting March 2, 2026.
• The ONLY portion of the permitting process for golf carts, that the McCracken County Sheriff's Office performs, is the golf cart inspection.
• Any information not pertaining to the inspection may be inaccurate or outdated. Please contact the city of Paducah Police Department at 270-444-8548 for more information.
• The MCSO will inspect golf carts at the McCracken County Courthouse Monday - Friday 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM, excluding holidays.
• You may request a vehicle inspection at your residence or other location for an additional fee.
• Off site inspections may not always be available. To make an offsite appointment, please call 270-444-4719.
Fees:

• $5 for inspection at the McCracken County Courthouse
• $15 for an offsite inspection
• Make checks payable to McCracken County Sheriff's Office

When your golf cart passes inspection, you will receive a completed inspection form. This form must be taken to the Paducah Police Department. The MCSO will not retain or keep records of any golf cart inspection. All further permitting steps will be done via Paducah Police Department.
